The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned rapper Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, over claims of sexual misconduct with a minor.

The controversy began after the rapper made comments during an Instagram Live session, where he claimed to have had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl.
The video sparked backlash online, prompting the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency to alert NAPTIP and call for a full investigation.
Following the public outrage, Speed Darlington released another video, saying his earlier comments were just a stunt to promote his new song. He also apologized for any offence his words may have caused.
NAPTIP, in a statement on Thursday, confirmed that the rapper has been invited for questioning, warning that if he fails to respond, further action will be taken.
In a letter dated May 28, 2025, the agency noted that if the claims turn out to be true, they could amount to a violation of the Trafficking in Persons Act of 2015, adding that the incident may also violate provisions of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015.

KanyiDaily recalls that Speed Darlington was previously exposed by a slay queen who he is making sexual advances toward on social media.
