President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the board and executive management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), seven weeks after their appointment on April 2, 2025.
The swearing-in took place on Thursday afternoon, May 22, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Among those inaugurated were the Non-Executive Chairman, Ahmadu Kida, and the Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari.
Following the brief ceremony, President Tinubu moved on to attend the APC National Summit at the State House Banquet Hall.
The newly inaugurated 11-member board includes:
- Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu, representing the North West
- Yusuf Usman, representing the North East
- Babs Omotowa, former NLNG Managing Director, representing the North Central
- Austin Avuru, Non-Executive Director for the South-South
- David Ige, representing the South-West
- Henry Obih, representing the South-East
Other members include Lydia Jafiya, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, who will serve as the ministry’s representative, and Aminu Ahmed, who represents the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Several senior government officials were also present at the event, including the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri.
