Enugu Rep, Chimaobi Atu Decamps From Labour Party To APC
Chimaobi Atu, a member of the House of Representatives from Enugu State, has decamped from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chimaobi Atu, who represents the Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, announced his decision on Wednesday, June 26.
His defection letter was presented during the House plenary on Thursday and read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
In the letter, Atu said the ongoing internal problems in the Labour Party were behind his decision to leave.
He claimed the party’s leadership crisis had made it difficult for him to properly carry out his responsibilities.
However, Minority Whip Ali Isa raised an objection and called for Atu’s seat to be declared vacant, citing party-switching rules.
Speaker Abbas acknowledged the point but chose not to make a ruling on the matter.
Atu’s move comes just a day after Senator Neda Imasuen, who represents Edo South, dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
