The court, led by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan of Court No. 21, also gave him the option of paying a fine of N100,000 instead of serving the jail term.

In addition, Kilina must pay N30,000 to the Kano State Film Censorship Board as compensation for what the court described as a waste of the board’s time.

The case was filed by the Kano State Film Censorship Board, which accused Kilina of promoting indecent behavior, cross-dressing, and using vulgar language in many of his TikTok videos.

After reviewing the evidence, the court found him guilty and issued the sentence.

The magistrate also warned Kilina to avoid creating content that goes against public decency, stating that if he repeats the offense, a future sentence would carry no option of a fine.

Reactions to the ruling have flooded social media. While many of Kilina’s fans have expressed sympathy, others said they felt he had gone too far with some of his recent videos.
