Kebbi Government Confirms Bandits Killed 30 People In Zuru Communities

The Kebbi State Government has confirmed that 30 people were killed in recent bandit attacks on communities in the Zuru area.

Local government chairmen Muhammad Gajere of Zuru and Hussaini Bena of Danko Wasagu said 16 people died in Tadurga, while 14 others were killed in Kyebu and Yar-Kuka, both located in the Waje District.

They also reported that many others were injured and that the attackers stole livestock and other property.

The state’s Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, visited Tadurga on Friday to deliver the government’s condolences.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris, he assured the people that efforts were underway to improve security.

Tafida said the government would work to block access routes into Tadurga and Kyebu to help prevent further attacks.

During the visit, Tafida prayed for the victims and asked God to give their families the strength to cope with the loss.

The Chief of Dabai, Alhaji Suleman Dabai, thanked the state government for acting quickly and credited Governor Idris’s leadership for recent improvements in security.

As part of the government’s support, Tafida announced a N50 million donation to help affected families, with N25 million going to each of the two hardest-hit communities, Tadurga and Kyebu.

The deputy governor said the gesture was a small but meaningful way to support those grieving during this difficult time.

KanyiDaily recalls that a police officer was recently killed and another injured after suspected bandits ambushed a police patrol vehicle in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
