Porsha Williams Wins Prenup Battle Against Her Ex-Nigerian Husband, Simon Guobadia

American Reality TV star Porsha Williams has bagged a win in her ongoing divorce case with her ex-husband, Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, after a judge ruled to uphold their prenuptial agreement.

The couple had been in a legal tug-of-war over the prenup they signed before their wedding. The case was delayed several times, partly due to Guobadia being held in ICE custody.

Porsha Williams, 43, filed for divorce in February 2024 after just 15 months of marriage. In her petition, she requested that their assets be divided according to the prenup and that Guobadia provide financial support.

However, 61-year-old Simon Guobadia pushed back, arguing that the agreement should be thrown out.

He claimed that Williams misled him by not revealing her plans to return to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”.

According to him, he only agreed to the terms of the prenup because he believed she was leaving the show for good.

Guobadia said if he had known she would be returning to RHOA, he wouldn’t have signed a deal that would leave him with heavy financial responsibilities. These included sharing equity in his $7 million home and covering major expenses for Williams.

Despite his objections, the judge ruled on June 10 that the prenup was valid and would be enforced.

It’s still unclear whether Simon Guobadia plans to appeal the decision.

Before the hearing, Porcha Williams asked the court for permission to attend virtually.

She explained that she had been offered a job that would help cover her growing legal costs and compensate for financial obligations Guobadia allegedly failed to meet under a temporary court order.

Her lawyer said the request was made in good faith, not to stall the proceedings. Guobadia also appeared at the hearing remotely.

KanyiDaily recalls that last week, Simon Guobadia returned to Nigeria after months in ICE detention.
