The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe over claims that she physically assaulted a crew member during a film shoot.

According to reports, Shirley Igwe allegedly slapped a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) while on set, leading the AGN to take immediate disciplinary action.
In a statement sent to state chapter chairmen and the national leadership, the Guild announced that Igwe is now on indefinite suspension while the matter is being investigated further.
The AGN said the suspension was based on her involvement in acts of “violence, and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession.”
The statement also warned that “Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.”

KanyiDaily recalls that in 2022, Shirley Igwe revealed that working with former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, gave her an insight on how people behave in the corridors of power.
