“Don’t Come To Edo Without Security Clearance” – Okpebholo Warns Peter Obi [Video]

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has issued a warning to Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, telling him to get proper security clearance before making any future visits to the state.

Peter Obi had visited Benin City on July 7, where he donated N15 million to the St. Philomena Hospital School of Nursing Sciences to support ongoing projects.

However, during an event on Friday where he welcomed opposition lawmaker Marcus Onobun into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Okpebholo criticized Obi’s visit.

He claimed that Obi’s presence in the state coincided with the killing of three people, and he suggested that former Anambra State governor’s visit may have contributed to rising tensions.

The governor questioned the source of the money Obi donated, saying, “That man who says he has no ‘shishi’ came and dropped N15 million. Where did he get it from? After he left, three people were killed. For this reason, Obi must not come to Edo without security clearance.”

Governor Okpebholo further warned that Peter Obi must not enter the state again without informing his office.

“I am sending a direct message to him. There is a new sheriff in town. He cannot come to Edo without telling me, because his security will never be guaranteed.

“Whatever happens to him when he is in Edo state, he will take it. I am serious about it,” he said

KanyiDaily recalls that Peter Obi recently revealed that Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia also prevented him from entering the state for a humanitarian visit.
