President Bola Tinubu reportedly sent Vice President Kashim Shettima to visit former President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently receiving medical treatment in a London hospital.

KanyiDaily had reported that Buhari has been unwell for some time, but is believed to be recuperating fron his medical treatment in London.
Before the visit, Shettima had been in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was attending the launch of the Green Legacy Initiative (GLI) at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
While Tinubu was away on a state visit to St Lucia, he reportedly instructed Shettima to head to London and check in on Buhari’s health.
According to TheCable, sources said the vice president’s task was to assess Buhari’s condition and make sure he had the necessary support for a full recovery.
It was gathered that Shettima left Ethiopia on Sunday night and landed in London on Monday. From there, he went to an undisclosed hospital to deliver Tinubu’s message to Buhari.
Although Shettima’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, confirmed that his boss had traveled to London, he declined to give further details, saying he wasn’t informed about the specific reason for the trip.
After media reports began to circulate, Bashir Ahmad, who served as Buhari’s special assistant on digital communications, said the former president was in stable condition.
He acknowledged Buhari was undergoing medical treatment but dismissed rumors that his health was in critical condition.
KanyiDaily recalls that Garba Shehu previously said that Muhammadu Buhari is “healthier than most young Nigerians” criticizing him on health issues.
