According to Tribune Online, the monarch died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, just one year after becoming Olubadan in July 2024.
Oba Owolabi Olakulehin’s death comes only two days after he marked his 90th birthday, having been born on July 5, 1935.
Oba Olakulehin was officially presented with the staff of office by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on July 12, 2024, becoming the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
He rose to the throne from his position as Balogun Olubadan, following the death of his predecessor, Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who died on March 14, 2024, at the age of 81.
