In a viral video, the angry passenger was seen physically confronting a flight attendant and later clashing with airport security.
According to those who posted the clips on Sunday, the passenger had been on a Uyo-to-Lagos flight earlier that day.
One of the videos captured the woman, still on board, putting her wig back on before jabbing a flight attendant’s head with her finger and shouting, “What did you do?”
The attendant, keeping her composure, responded, “She is hitting me.”
In another video filmed after she left the aircraft, the passenger could be seen yelling at airport security personnel, swatting at cameras, and struggling against those trying to restrain her.
Her shirt appeared torn, and bystanders claimed she had slapped a crew member earlier.
Security officers eventually overpowered the woman and escorted her into a waiting airport bus.
The cause of her outburst remains unclear, but Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), suggested it was linked to her refusal to follow basic flight rules.
He noted that directives such as switching off mobile phones during takeoff and landing should not be taken for granted, stressing that such simple rules should not escalate into confrontations.
“When cabin crew ask you to turn off your phone before takeoff or landing, simply comply. I can’t understand why simple routine issues would lead to incidents like this.
“Passengers need to understand they have responsibilities, not just rights. More details will be addressed tomorrow,” Achimugu wrote on X late Sunday.
This incident comes a few days after a heated incident involving Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde aka Kwam 1 at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
