Kogi Polytechnic Final-Year Student Dies During Abortion In Lokoja

A final-year student of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, lost her life during an abortion at a private medical facility in the state capital.

The tragedy happened on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Al-Hassan Clinic and Maternity, in Sarkin Noma, Lokoja.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old Omotosho Dorcas, was reportedly six months pregnant when she went to the clinic to terminate the pregnancy.

However, during the procedure, she began to bleed heavily and could not be saved.

“In the process of the abortion, she bled to death,” according to security analyst, Zagazola Makama

Police detectives later arrived at the scene, documented evidence, and moved her body to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja for preservation.

The medical personnel involved in the procedure have been arrested. and the case will now be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiry.

KanyiDaily recalls that a Nigerian lady previously expressed her discontent with BBBNaija star, Phyna, for her comments suggesting that all women have undergone abortions at least once or twice.
