The by-election in Remo Federal Constituency, Ogun State, was conducted peacefully on Saturday, with residents turning out in good numbers to cast their votes.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the constituency, Adesola Elegbeji, praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for creating a safe and orderly atmosphere during the exercise.
She also commended the electorate for participating actively to fill the seat left vacant after the death of the former Deputy Chief Whip, Adewumi Onanuga.
The Remo poll is part of the by-elections taking place in 13 states across the country, where voters are choosing new lawmakers for the Senate, House of Representatives, and various state assemblies.
According to INEC, the elections are being conducted in 16 constituencies spread across Jigawa, Edo, Ogun, Oyo, Adamawa, Anambra, Kaduna, Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Niger, Enugu, and Zamfara States.
Meanwhile, voting is also ongoing in Garki Local Government Area of Jigawa State to elect a new representative for the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency, following the death of the former House of Representatives member.
