First Female FCT Head Of Service, Grace Adayilo Is Dead

A senior official in the FCT Administration confirmed that she passed away suddenly in the early hours of Monday.

Neither her family nor the FCTA has released an official statement about her death at the time of this report.

Grace Adayilo was last seen in public on Thursday when she represented FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at the G7 security meeting in Abuja.

She was appointed to the position in October last year by President Bola Tinubu, making history as both the first female and the first indigene of the FCT to hold the office.

Her appointment was widely regarded as a landmark moment for the territory, breaking long-standing gender and regional barriers.

KanyiDaily also reported that Dr. Doyin Abiola, a pioneering Nigerian journalist and former Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of National Concord, died at the age of 82.
