Gunmen Kidnap Kwara APC Chairman’s Wife And Daughter

Gunmen have kidnapped the wife and daughter of Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The victims identified as Hajiya Fatima, the chairman’s wife, and their daughter, Amina, were reportedly kidnapped by a group of five armed men on Sunday night at the family’s home in the Sakpefu area.

The gunmen allegedly scaled the fence into the compound and opened fire into the air to scare residents before forcing their way into one of the rooms, where they seized the two women at gunpoint.

According to Vanguard, a senior party official, who craved anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying he had spoken with the chairman on Monday morning.

“It’s true that our Chairman’s wife and daughter in Patigi were kidnapped last night. I spoke with him this morning, he said he was just lucky not to be kidnapped by the bandits, who jumped over his fence into the compound and started shooting sporadically into the air.

“He said they entered into one of the rooms where they found his wife and daughter and took them away, shooting into the air,” he said in a sober voice.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the gang spent several minutes in the compound before fleeing with their captives to an unknown destination.

“The bandits abducted his wife, Haja Fatima, and his daughter, Amina, and took them to an unknown destination,” another member of the party said in an interview

When contacted about the case, Kwara State Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo said he had not yet received a formal report. “I’m yet to be informed,” he told Vanguard.
