Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Colombian teenager Cristian Orozco, a 17-year-old defensive midfielder who currently plays for Fortaleza CEIF.

Cristian Orozco, who has represented Colombia at the under-17 level, will only be eligible to join United officially when he turns 18 in July 2026.
He featured prominently for his country earlier this year at the 2025 CONMEBOL South American U-17 Championship, where Colombia finished as runners-up after losing to Brazil on penalties in the final.
At the club level, Orozco plays in Colombia’s top division with Fortaleza.
His move continues United’s growing interest in South American youth prospects.
Earlier this summer, United completed the signing of Paraguayan full-back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteño for an initial $4m, with potential add-ons taking the deal up to $5m.
That transfer was first agreed in January as a pre-contract.
Leon, who is 18, has yet to make his first-team debut but has already been named in Ruben Amorim’s matchday squad twice this season.
The club has also been strengthening its academy from within England. In the past year, United picked up young defender Ayden Heaven and forward Chido Obi from Arsenal.
Both players have since made their Premier League debuts during the 2024-25 campaign.
United will resume Premier League action on Saturday with a fixture against Brentford.
KanyiDaily recalls that Manchester United recently sealed a deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million.
