A Deputy Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mistakenly shot and killed a fellow officer in the Life Camp area of Abuja.

The incident was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details on his X handle on Monday, citing information from security sources.

According to the report, the victim, identified as DSC Adekunle Emmanuel, was accidentally shot in the upper arm by a colleague while they were heading to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate from Corner View Hotel around 10:20 am on Sunday.

It was gathered that Emmanuel was rushed to Maitama General Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.

“The corpse has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, the sources added,” Makama added.
