ADC Candidate John Nwosu Accuses APGA Of Vote Buying In Anambra Election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, John Nwosu, has accused the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) of widespread vote buying in the ongoing Anambra governorship election.

John Nwosu made the allegation after casting his vote at Oduda Central School, Ward 2, in Nnewi North Local Government Area. He arrived at his polling unit around 11:28 a.m. and voted soon after.

Speaking to reporters, Nwosu said he was pleased with voter turnout but expressed concern over what he described as open financial inducement by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s party.

Meanwhile, movement across parts of the state, especially Onitsha, was affected as security operatives blocked access to the Niger Bridge to ensure safe transportation of election materials and officials.

Voting is ongoing across all 21 local government areas, with accreditation starting as early as 8:30 a.m. in several polling centres, including Fegge Community Primary School, Onitsha.

In Aguata Local Government Area, some traders initially opened their shops at Nkwo Igboukwu Market but later shut them down after instructions from market leaders urging full participation in the election.

KanyiDaily recalls that the APC candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, also raised similar concerns about vote buying and reported incidents of intimidation involving party agents in some areas of the state.
