The statement was made following comments by Senator Orji Ozor Kalu of Abia North, who had referred to previous unsuccessful efforts to impeach the Senate President.
Speaking during Wednesday’s plenary, Bamidele clarified that no senator has discussed or planned Akpabio’s removal, saying that the report is misleading and intended to stir unnecessary tension in the National Assembly.
He stressed that the Senate is united and focused on important national issues, not distractions caused by false rumors.
The Senate leader said, “There was no attempt by any of our colleagues, nor any discussion about removing the Senate President from office.
“We are fully united and have a zero-tolerance approach to distractions because there are urgent issues of public importance that need our attention. Reports like these are clearly meant to create confusion.”
Bamidele reaffirmed that the Senate has no plans to remove any of its leaders, highlighting the chamber’s cohesion and commitment to governance.
