Delta State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old housemaid, identified as Rosemary, for allegedly stealing foreign currencies and other personal belongings from her employer’s home.

While presenting the suspect to journalists, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, explained that Rosemary, who is from Plateau State, had worked for the Commissioner and his wife for more than a year.
Speaking to newsmen, Rosemary said the Commissioner once instructed his wife to give her some items to take home for the festive season.
But just before her trip, the wife got upset with her and refused to hand them over, so she returned home empty-handed.
Rosemary admitted that when she came back after the holidays, she decided to steal from the couple.
According to her, she waited until they travelled, then entered their bedroom and gathered various items, including foreign currency and food supplies.
She also convinced the family driver to move the bags to the motor park, telling him her boss had asked her to send them to someone outside the state.
She then travelled with the goods and destroyed her SIM card in an attempt to avoid being traced.
The police launched an investigation after the theft was reported.
Their efforts eventually led them to Plateau State, where Rosemary was found and the stolen items were recovered.
