“France Will Support Nigeria To Fight Against Terrorism” – Macron Tells Tinubu

French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged France’s support to Nigeria as the country continues to confront security problems, especially the ongoing threat of terrorism in the northern states.

In a post shared via X on Sunday, Macron said he had held a conversation with President Bola Tinubu and assured him that France is ready to deepen its cooperation with Nigeria.

“No one can remain a bystander,” he said. “I spoke with President Tinubu of Nigeria, @officialABAT.”

“I conveyed France’s solidarity in the face of the various security challenges, particularly the terrorist threat in the North.

“At his (Tinubu’s) request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations.

“We call on all our partners to step up their engagement. No one can remain a spectator,” the French President added.

Macron added that France will work closely with the Nigerian government as part of its commitment to support the population in areas hit by insecurity.

His comments come amid a recent rise in attacks and kidnappings by gunmen, particularly in northern Nigeria, which has prompted widespread concern both within the country and internationally.

KanyiDaily recalls that American rapper Nicki Minaj recently claimed that Christians in Nigeria “are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed”.
