In a video shared online, Seun Kuti narrated how a rich Nigerian family lost a relative and a huge amount of money after choosing Pastor Adeboye’s spiritual healing instead of medical care for advanced cancer.
He revealed that the woman’s doctors overseas had told her family that nothing more could be done medically.
According to him, the family then turned to faith healing, hoping for a miracle.
Kuti alleged that the woman was taken to the RCCG camp, where she underwent prayers and other religious activities after being assured she would recover.
The musician claimed that despite continuous prayers, the woman died at the camp.
Kuti said the family was shocked by her death after spending about $250,000 during the process, motivated by hope that she would be healed.
The singer criticised the encouragement of faith healing in cases of terminal illness, saying it can give families false hope and make the eventual loss even harder to bear.
Seun Kuti further alleged that after the woman died, Pastor Adeboye told the family to stop crying and said he would pray for her to come back to life.
According to him, the pastor asked them to kneel beside the body for an hour while he prayed privately, but the woman did not revive.
He said, “Oyibo don tell am say nothing can be done, get comfortable; it’s your time. But the woman no wan d!e na. Na Nigerian rich woman. She too hold bar. Na him dey come Nigeria, Adeboye will heal her. Dem go collect place for Redeem Camp. Adeboye pray finish..the woman come d!e inside redeem camp, the woman’s family couldn’t believe it.
‘Na him dey carry her body go inside Adeboye place for Redeem Camp. This was after $250,000 don go down.
“Adeboye came out of his balcony, he didn’t even come down to meet them. He told them to stop crying. He will go inside to pray for her to wake up. As he pray for one hour she no wake up, e say na God call am, make them dey go house..”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Pastor Enoch Adeboye recently revealed why he chooses not to employ female secretaries.
