Mansur Musa, a member of the House of Representatives, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His defection was announced on Tuesday when House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read Musa’s letter during plenary.
Musa represents the Gwandu/Aleiro/Jega federal constituency in Kebbi State. Several APC leaders from the state were present in the chamber to witness his move.
In his letter, Musa said he decided to leave the PDP because of the internal divisions in the party, which he claimed had weakened his ability to properly serve his constituency.
He added that the APC offers a more organised and stable platform for effective representation.
Opposition lawmakers attempted to raise a point of order, likely to challenge the defection, but Abbas declined to acknowledge it.
Shortly after announcing Musa’s decision, the speaker adjourned the session.
Musa’s exit further reduces the number of PDP members in the House of Representatives.
KanyiDaily also reported how the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, along with 16 other members of the House, dumped the PDP for the APC.
