Family Of Late Gospel Singer, Bunmi Akinnaanu Announces Her Burial Date

The family and close associates of late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu have announced plans for her burial.

KanyiDaily recalls that Bunmi Akinnaanu died on January 12 after battling with a long-term leg illness.

Her death came only a few months after she had openly asked for prayers as she battled the condition.

Her health challenges had raised serious concern among fans and members of the gospel music community, many of whom followed her struggle closely.

The burial arrangement was announced by fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody through a post on Instagram, alongside a flier outlining the programme of events.

According to the schedule, activities will begin on Tuesday, January 20, with a service of songs at the LTV 8 ground in Ikeja, Lagos. Later that evening, a candlelight walk will take place at 7pm, followed by a tribute and artistes’ night at 8pm.

The burial service itself is set for Wednesday, January 21, and the family noted that the interment will be a private event, limited to family members and a few close associates.

Bunmi Akinnaanu discovered her passion for music at a young age, starting her singing journey at just 10 years old. She later resigned from her banking job to fully commit to her music career.

She became widely known for her popular song “Omije Ojumi,” which resonated deeply with many Nigerian Christians and became a regular feature in churches and homes across the country.

KanyiDaily also reported how Hollywood actor James Ransone died by committing suicide at the age of 46.
