The legal team of Pastor Chris Okafor has intensified its response to online allegations against him.

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and other bloggers have been asked to present concrete evidence to the Nigeria Police or face criminal charges.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, Ife Ajayi, Lead Partner at Sovereignty LP and counsel to Okafor, described the claims as false, malicious, and part of a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement aimed at tarnishing the pastor’s reputation.
Ajayi said the attacks, which resurfaced in December 2025, were allegedly initiated by Ogala and amplified by a network of bloggers and online platforms, many of whom did not reach out to Pastor Okafor for a response before publishing damaging content.
“Our client is a private citizen and a law-abiding Nigerian. What we have witnessed over the past months is not advocacy or responsible journalism, but a calculated attempt to try him in the court of public opinion,” Ajayi said.
He traced the dispute back to late 2024, following a business arrangement involving Ogala and a third party.
When Pastor Okafor ended the arrangement after determining the expected outcome could not be achieved, Ogala allegedly went online claiming the pastor owed her ₦45 million.
Ajayi called the claim baseless, stressing that the narrative escalated over time, shifting from financial disputes to claims of a romantic relationship and eventually serious criminal allegations.
“Each time one allegation failed to gain traction, another more outrageous one followed. It was a systematic attempt to see what would stick,” the lawyer said.
He also claimed that attacks intensified just before Pastor Okafor’s December 2025 wedding, when Ogala reportedly questioned his right to marry and demanded compensation, first in cash and later in the form of property.
Ajayi said that Doris Ogala had previously been arrested for cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and threats over similar online conduct.
According to him, the matter was settled out of court, with Ogala agreeing not to contact, engage, or publicly mention Pastor Chris Okafor.
He emphasized that allegations of rape, sexual assault, or an affair only surfaced after the settlement.
“At no point during those proceedings did she allege rape, sexual assault or an affair. Those claims were never made until after the settlement was reached and allegedly breached,” he stated.
Despite this, the pastor faced renewed attacks online, prompting complaints to the Nigeria Police for public incitement, blackmail, and cyber harassment.
Ogala was arrested again shortly before Christmas 2025, questioned by police, and granted administrative bail on medical grounds.
During questioning, she reportedly denied making some of the most serious claims, including accusations of murder or forcing Pastor Okafor’s wife into marriage.
“She denied these allegations in the presence of police officers and requested legal representation before making her statement.
“She was later granted administrative bail on medical grounds and warned not to return to social media with unsubstantiated claims,” Ajayi said.
Ajayi accused VeryDarkMan and other online platforms of soliciting allegations from the public and presenting them as facts, stressing that social media users cannot act as accuser, investigator, prosecutor, and judge simultaneously.
“You cannot be the accuser, investigator, prosecutor and judge all at once. If there is an allegation of rape, murder or abuse, the law is clear on where it should be reported,” he said.
He said criminal complaints have been filed against individuals spreading false claims, with dozens of social media accounts under investigation.
The lawyer criticized media outlets for publishing unverified claims, accusing them of monetizing sensational content instead of upholding due process.
He stressed that Pastor Okafor has cooperated fully with police investigations, providing evidence to counter allegations of rape, child abuse, or murder.
“There was never a case of evading arrest or refusing police invitation. That narrative was another falsehood pushed online,” Ajayi said.
He challenged Doris Ogala, VeryDarkMan, and others to submit their allegations, witnesses, and evidence to law enforcement.
“If they believe these allegations are true, let them swear to them under oath and present proof to law enforcement. Otherwise, we will pursue all available legal remedies,” he warned.
Ajayi also referenced a recent report by SaharaReporters involving a woman alleging rape by Pastor Okafor, saying the story is part of a campaign to damage his client’s reputation.
He described the repeated publication of unproven claims as dangerous, noting that Okafor, his wife, and family have received threats as a result.
He urged the public to allow the police to investigate and warned against mob justice fueled by social media outrage.
“This is a society governed by law. Social media outrage cannot replace investigation, evidence and trial,” he said.
Ajayi concluded that while Pastor Okafor will not be intimidated or blackmailed, his legal team is committed to holding those spreading false allegations accountable.
“The truth may be delayed, but it will prevail,” Ajayi said.
KanyiDaily recalls that Doris Ogala recently threatened to reveal the names of her colleagues who have sexual relationship with Pastor Chris Okafor.
