“You’re Not A Witch” – Angela Okorie Apologizes To Mercy Johnson After Arrest [Video]

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has apologised to her colleague Mercy Johnson after calling her a witch during their public dispute.

The apology comes a few weeks after Angela Okorie was arrested in Lagos by officers from the State Criminal Investigation Department.

She was later remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre following her arraignment over alleged cyber-related offences linked to the feud.

Their conflict began last year when Okorie claimed that Mercy Johnson was dealing with an illness,  which “I do not wish on my enemies”.

She also accused Johnson of pretending to be virtuous in public by using religious language, while allegedly behaving differently in private.

Mercy Johnson responded at the time with a subtle social media post about online attacks before stepping away from the back-and-forth.

In a recent Instagram video shared after her release, Angela Okorie expressed regret over her words and the effect the dispute may have had on Johnson and her family.

She blamed the misunderstanding on rumours within the film industry, saying people often carried different versions of stories between them, which fueled the tension.

“This video is specifically for Mercy, her kids and family. You know when we were getting older, a lot of things would leave you. When we growing in the industry, a lot of people would come and tell me that Mercy said and some people would tell Mercy that Angela said,” she said.

“There have been issues, quarrels, chaos, loggerheads and at this age, I do not think that this is what I want. The only thing I want right now is money, business. If you have business, please call me. I am no longer listening to those cheap gossips.

“I just want to apologise to you. If it is just my words, if it is the words that I have written anytime your name pops up on social media, I am deeply sorry. You are not a witch, you are not what people are calling you.”

Okorie also spoke about their children, saying she was especially concerned about reports that children in her family were being bullied because of the online insults.

“This is just to say I am sorry, we do not know where our kids would meet each other tomorrow,” she said.

“They might be best of friends. These kids have been traveling far and wide, they can meet anywhere in the world. I do not like the fact that they call my sis kids witches in school and they bully them. If they do it to my child, I would not take it. So this is to say I am sorry, deeply sorry for everything.”
