The moment drew attention to how common it still is for people to throw cash around at public celebrations.
The incident happened while popular Hausa singer Dauda Rarara was performing his new song, “Omo Ologo” (Child of Glory), in tribute to the President.
Tinubu, who is said to admire the musician, appeared to enjoy the performance.
During Rarara’s Performance, a woman dressed in APC clothing approached him and, in excitement, sprayed a few naira notes.
She was quickly warned to stop, as the act took place in the President’s presence.
The President was in Adamawa on Monday to commission several projects completed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
Among them were newly built model schools in all 21 local government areas. The schools include nursery, primary and junior secondary sections, along with sports facilities and updated learning equipment.
Other projects unveiled during the visit included an eight-lane underpass on Galadima Aminu Road, a renovated high court building, a multipurpose hall, an officers’ complex, and a new office complex at the Government House.
KanyiDaily recalls that the EFCC recently arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa after a video surfaced online showing her allegedly using naira notes to wipe her nose.
