“Noise Making With Empty Pocket” – Cosmas Maduka Fires Back At Cubana Chief Priest [Video]

Nigerian businessman and industrialist Cosmas Maduka has responded to nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest after the latter made remarks comparing him to some of Nigeria’s wealthiest billionaires.

The tension between the two dates back several months, when Cosmas Maduka criticized Cubana Chief Priest over his usage of the popular phrase “Money na water.”

In his reaction at that time, Cubana defended the phrase, insisting it represents a mindset of abundance and positive energy, not recklessness.

He advised Maduka to “remove his name” from the list of modern billionaires like Tony Elumelu and Femi Otedola, figures he praised for using their wealth to promote Africa’s image globally.

Speaking during a recent event, Maduka dismissed Cubana’s comments as “noise-making with empty pockets,” emphasizing that he would never compare himself to business giants like Femi Otedola or Aliko Dangote.

Maduka highlighted his humble beginnings, noting that he only completed a third-grade education and described himself as a “street boy” who worked his way up, and now serves on the boards of two publicly listed banks in Nigeria and chairs a credit committee.

He also revealed that he has represented Nigeria internationally, including an invitation from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna, and that his business interests span five continents.

Maduka revealed that in 2011, he set a personal mission to mentor and help create 1,000 billionaires in Nigeria. So far, he says he has successfully guided 67 individuals to billionaire status.

Reacting to the criticism, he said: “Noise making with empty pocket is a new currency. That’s what that means.

“He took me on and started saying I should never equate myself with Femi Otedola and the rest. I will never equate myself with Aliko and the rest of them.

“If they came from where I was coming from, they would have been much more successful people. Don’t measure me with a person whose father gave opportunity to go to school and have BSc or MSc.

“I am a street boy who came from ground zero and worked myself up to sit in two public quoted banks in Nigeria and a chairman of a credit committee.

” With my third grade education I was invited by United Nations industrial development in Vienna. I also do business in 5 continents of the world. In 2011, God put it in my heart to go out there and create a thousand billionaires in Nigeria.

“I have 67 of them I can count on my fingers who I have mentored and they have become billionaires.”
