South African singer Tyla has picked up her second Grammy for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 awards ceremony, edging out top Nigerian acts in the same category.

Davido, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr were all among the final nominees for Best African Music Performanc.
Tyla secured the win with her hit track “Push 2 Start”, finishing ahead of Burna Boy’s Love, Davido’s With You featuring Omah Lay, Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s Gimme Dat, and Hope & Love by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.
The award, created to celebrate and promote African music on the global stage, once again had a strong Nigerian presence.
Tyla first made history in 2024 when she won the newly introduced category with her breakout song Water.
With this latest victory, the singer now becomes a two-time winner since the award was established.
