Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has spoken against the growing habit of celebrities sharing unreplied direct messages after someone dies.

"Don’t Post My DM When I Die” – Etinosa Idemudia Warns Colleagues Over Fake Tributes

During a recent interview on the BTC Podcast, the actress said many people ignore others while they are alive but suddenly begin posting emotional tributes online after their death.

Etinosa warned fellow entertainers not to share any of her private messages after she dies, describing the behaviour as fake and unnecessary.

According to her, posting screenshots of ignored messages or claiming regret after someone’s death often  seems like attention-seeking rather than genuine grief.

All those people that post people’s DM when they are dead, if you post my DM, I’ll wake up, slap you and go back to the grave. Don’t try it,” she said.

Etinosa Idemudia also criticised movie producers and actors who refuse to work with certain colleagues while they are alive but later make emotional social media posts claiming they had plans to collaborate with them.

DM that you didn’t reply, my enemy will die now. If you try it and post that ‘Oh, we should have worked together, I was looking forward to working with you,’ what I will do to you in your dream, you wouldn’t believe it,” she added.

Her comments followed reactions surrounding the death of actor Alexx Ekubo, as several celebrities shared screenshots of their final conversations with him on social media.
