Nasarawa APC Chieftain Remanded For Allegedly Threatening To Kill Police Officers

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Dadda’u Mamuda, has been remanded in custody over allegations of threatening police officers.

According to reports, Mamuda allegedly threatened to attack any police officer involved in arresting supporters of former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, who is said to be his preferred governorship aspirant.

The alleged statement was reportedly made during a political meeting held recently in Lafia.

Mamuda was ordered to remain in the custody of the Nigeria Correctional Service after he appeared before the Federal High Court in Lafia on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The police arraigned him on a two-count charge linked to the alleged threats.

Justice M.O. Olajuwon, who presided over the case, adjourned the matter until June 10, 2026, for the hearing of his bail application.

Meanwhile, a young man identified as Aboy Odili has reportedly been shot by a police officer in Asaba, Delta State.
