“Oga, You Did It Like Arsenal” – Dino Melaye Hails Atiku After Winning ADC Primary

Dino Melaye, a former senator and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has compared Atiku Abubakar’s overwhelming victory at the party’s presidential primary to Arsenal’s recent Premier League success.

Both Dino Melaye and Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, are known supporters of Arsenal.

The result of the ADC primary was announced on Wednesday night by the returning officer, Tunde Ogbeha, who declared Atiku the winner after he secured 1,846,370 votes.

He defeated two other contestants including Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a former managing director of the now-defunct FSB International Bank, and Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State.

Amaechi received 504,117 votes, while Hayatu-Deen got 177,120 votes.

Atiku is now set to pursue the presidency again in 2027, marking his sixth attempt, although he has contested as a presidential candidate three times in 2007, 2019, and 2023.

Recently, Arsenal claimed their first English Premier League title in 22 years after Manchester City dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.

Reacting on X on Thursday, Melaye compared Atiku’s victory to Arsenal’s achievement, saying “Oga you did it like Arsenal.”

KanyiDaily recall that the outcome of the ADC primary had sparked disagreement, as Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen have both rejected the results, alleging irregularities and claiming that some voters were unfairly excluded from the process.
