Police Released Ilebaye’s Father And Retrieved Her Brothers From Me – Ilebaye’s Mother

Lami Odiniya, the mother of Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye, has revealed that her ex-husband, Emmanuel Odiniya, has been released after being arrested by police over the incident involving their daughter.

KanyiDaily recalls that Emmanuel Odiniya was taken into custody at the Wuye Divisional Police Station on May 9 after a viral video showed Ilebaye looking distressed and injured, with visible swelling on her face after being allegedly assaulted by her father.

Speaking on the incident, Lami explained that Ilebaye had gone to visit her father to see her younger brothers and also discuss issues ahead of her 24th birthday celebration.

According to her, the disagreement became heated after Emmanuel allegedly accused Ilebaye of being influenced by her mother.

The situation has also drawn attention to the family’s long-standing dispute following the collapse of the couple’s 32-year marriage.

According to LIB, Lami said a court had earlier granted Emmanuel custody of their two sons, who are 11 and 14 years old.

She further revealed that after Emmanuel’s arrest, the boys were temporarily handed over to her.

However, she claimed the police later instructed that the children be returned to their father because of the existing court ruling.

Lami also denied rumours circulating online that Ilebaye was under the influence of drugs during the incident.

She added that the reality TV star has since been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment, including intravenous drips, to help stabilize her condition.

Attempts to get comments from the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as calls made to her were not answered at the time of filing this report.
