Speaking during a recent appearance on “The Morayo Show”, Bovi Ugboma explained that he does not view every divorce as a failure.
The comedian said he believes some separations can be beneficial if a marriage is no longer healthy for those involved.
According to him, ending a marriage can sometimes allow one or both partners to find peace and happiness again.
He stressed that he would never want to remain in a situation where he is unhappy, nor would he want anyone else to feel trapped because of him.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage. I will not suffer anybody, neither will I want anybody to suffer me,” he said.
The comedian acknowledged that marriage comes with challenges, stressing that despite being married for 17 years, the journey has not always been easy.
Bovi said he got married at the age of 29 and has spent nearly two decades carrying the responsibilities that come with family life and providing for his household.
“That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop,” he added.
The 46-year-old entertainer is married to Kris Asimonye. The couple exchanged vows in 2009 and are parents to three children named David, Elena, and Chuchu.
