Love And Marriage Becomes A Scam When Relationship Is Used For Financial Gain – Emeka Ike

Nollywood actor Emeka Ike said that love and marriage are not scams, arguing that relationships only become dishonest when they are built on financial motives instead of genuine affection.

Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin, the actor said some people enter relationships mainly to benefit financially, turning what should be a sincere union into a transaction.

According to him, true love should be based on honesty, commitment, and mutual respect rather than the expectation of material gain.

Emeka Ike said, “No, love and marriage is not scam. But there are a few people that are hungry, that are using relationship as a meal ticket. That’s where it becomes a scam.”

He expressed concern over the growing number of women who pursue relationships with wealthy men primarily because of what they hope to receive.

The actor said anyone looking for money should not disguise it as love, adding that relationships are meant to be respected and treated as something meaningful.

So plenty of girls are going into relationships because of what they want to get, wetin dey wan collect from the man.

“They should just go and be begging for money on the streets, not using relationship. Relationship is supposed to be sacred,” he said.

Emeka Ike also advised women to be cautious about taking relationship or marriage advice from people whose own marriages have ended unsuccessfully.

He explained that every marriage is different and encouraged couples to work through their challenges together instead of giving up or focusing only on financial benefits.

Good girls should not listen to those women whose marriages have scattered and they come online to give wrong marriage advice,” he said.

“People endure in relationship. People try to find out the problem of their spouse in relationship. People try to solve it. Don’t just be with them for financial gains.”
