Manchester City Star Erling Haaland Receives Four Guinness World Records

The Norwegian star was presented with the certificates at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium in recognition of his performances in the Premier League, Champions League and international football.

One of the records celebrates Erling Haaland’s 36-goal Premier League season in 2022/23.

He scored the goals in 35 appearances, setting a new record for the most goals by a player in a single Premier League campaign.

His total was higher than Mohamed Salah’s 32 goals in the 2017/18 season. It also surpassed the previous record of 34 goals held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, which they achieved during seasons that featured 42 matches.

Haaland was also recognised for reaching 100 Premier League goals faster than any other player. He reached the landmark in December 2025.

The Manchester City forward also holds a major record with Norway. He is the leading scorer in UEFA Nations League history, having scored 19 goals for his country between 2020 and 2024.

Another certificate relates to his remarkable Champions League performance against RB Leipzig in March 2023.

Haaland scored five goals in the match on March 14, 2023, joining Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano as the only players to score five times in a single Champions League game.

The four Guinness World Records awards further highlight Haaland’s impact at club and international level since emerging as one of football’s most prolific goalscorers.
