Nyesom Wike Goes On Vacation After 30 Days Of Commissioning Projects [Photos]

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has gone on vacation after more than 30 days of project commissioning, groundbreaking ceremonies and inspections across Abuja.

Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, announced the development in a post on X on Monday.

Olayinka said the minister spent the past month visiting several project sites and monitoring the progress of major infrastructure works in the FCT, stressing that he also reviewed projects expected to be completed and commissioned in December and January.

He said Wike was taking a break after a busy period of work involving the commissioning of completed projects, launching new ones and checking ongoing construction.

“Holiday time for Nyerisi. He is somewhere in the world, relaxing after spending over 30 days, commissioning projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing ones, especially those scheduled for commissioning in December and January, next year,” Olayinka wrote.

Nyesom Wike has recently been at several project sites across Abuja as the FCT Administration pushes to complete a number of infrastructure projects.

The minister, who previously served as governor of Rivers State, was appointed FCT Minister by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023.

Since taking office, he has focused heavily on road construction and rehabilitation, improving public infrastructure, expanding facilities and developing satellite towns within the Federal Capital Territory.

His vacation comes at a time when the FCT Administration is continuing work on several projects that are expected to be commissioned in the coming months.
