Fact check: Old “Tinubu must go” protest video is being shared as if it were new

DUBAWA traced the video online and found it has been circulating since May 2026, when protesters took to the streets to demand action over students held by kidnappers in Oyo and Borno states. It was not filmed in the run-up to the election, as the posts suggested.

DNN Fact Check, which also examined the clip, likewise concluded that it predates the September date being claimed, placing it in June.
