Plateau Council Chairman, Henry Gotip Kidnapped By Gunmen

The Chairman of Kanke Local Government Council of Plateau State, Henry Gotip has been kidnapped by some gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday.

Gotip was abducted at his residence at Kwang in Jos North Local Government Area of the state.

The gunmen shot sporadically into the air to scare away residents and whisked the chairman away.

The gunmen are yet to contact his family.

The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the incident through its Spokesman, Alfred Alabo.

According to him, the command has dispatched a tactical team to search for him and ensure he is safe return.

He said, “The Police Commissioner is on top of the situation as he has sent a team of police officers to the area who are working in collaboration with the vigilante to rescue the Council Chairman.”

Gotip is also the state’s Secretary of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily had reported how gunmen abducted the local government chairman of Warri North, Aduge Okorodudu.
