Anambra Police Recover Military Uniforms In Kidnappers’ Den

The Anambra State Police Command says its operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Akwuzu have recovered several military uniforms in a kidnappers’ den in Ifite, Ogbunike in the Oyi local government area of the state.

The police disclosed this in a statement posted on the command’s Twitter handle on Thursday.

According to the statement, the RRS officers stormed the camp on Wednesday in an attempt to rescue two kidnap victims.

He added that the RRS officers neutralised two of the armed men and recovered a black Lexus SUV with a lot of military uniforms.

The command also shared a video of the items recovered from the kidnapper’s den.

The statement reads, “The battle against the insurgents in Anambra State is focused and it will remain sustained until such a time security stability is fully restored in the state.

“There were some major positive developments today 10/5/2023, following so much credible information to the Police Command from the residents of Anambra, we have identified some of their criminal hideouts/camps.

“The Police operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad, Akwuzu in the earlier hours of today while in an attempt to rescue two of the kidnapped victims stormed into a camp at ifite, Ogbunike, Oyi LGA, neutralized two of the armed men, recovered a black Lexus SUV with a lot of security uniforms which comprises of police and military.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that a total of hundred and thirty-five (135) Nigerians evacuated from war-torn Sudan have arrived in the country.

The evacuated Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.
