Nigerian Pensioners Protest 35-Month Unpaid Entitlements In Lagos [Video]

Retirees under the auspices Nigerian Union of Pensioner sstaged a street protest on Monday over unpaid benefits.

According to Channels TV, the pensioners are from various agencies including Nitel, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Nigerian Railway Corporation.

The protesters said they are owed as much as 35 months’ worth of pension arrears, in addition to the yet-to-be-paid N35,000 palliative promised by the Federal government.

They urged the government to set a clear date for settling their outstanding payments, lamenting the severe hardship they continue to face as a result of the delay.
