Former British-Nigerian heavyweight Anthony Joshua is preparing to return to boxing, with a fight scheduled for July 25.

Anthony Joshua Announces First Fight Since Surviving Car Accident

Anthony Joshua is set to take on Albania’s Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This will be Joshua’s first appearance in the ring since he survived a car crash in December 2025 that killed two of his close associates.

The accident happened while they were travelling from Lagos to Sagamu in Ogun State.

Their vehicle reportedly crashed into the back of a parked truck along the Sinoma area near Sagamu.

Anthony Joshua came out of the crash with minor injuries, but his friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died at the scene.

His last outing in the ring was an exhibition fight against Jake Paul, where he won by knockout in the sixth round.

The accident occurred less than two weeks after that bout.

The upcoming fight against Prenga is being seen as a buildup to a possible major showdown with Tyson Fury.

Joshua and Fury have had a long-running rivalry, and talks are said to be ongoing about arranging a fight between them later this year.
