Governor Bala Mohammed Dumps PDP For APM
Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

He made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, where he was officially handed an APM membership card, along with the party’s constitution and flag.
Mohammed said the new party offers a more stable platform for him and his supporters to continue their political activities without internal disputes or court cases.
He also thanked the PDP for the role it played in his political career, saying the party helped him serve the people and contribute to the development of the state and the country.
“At this point, I wish to acknowledge and appreciate the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the important role it has played in our collective political journey,” he said.
“It has been a platform through which we have served, grown, and contributed meaningfully to the development of our state and dear nation.
“We remain grateful for this history and opportunity.
“After extensive and wide consultations, we have taken a firm and strategic decision to join APM.”
His move ends weeks of speculation about his political future, especially after the PDP crisis in Bauchi State.
There had been rumours that he might move to either the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or the All Progressives Congress (APC).
