“We Rαped Her Before Beheading” – Killer Of Imo Nursing Student Wendy Achumba

The youths of Umuadara in Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, have apprehended a man believed to be involved in the killing of Wendy Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing in Obowo.

A source in the community said the arrest was carried out under the leadership of the youth leader, Chidiebere Iweajunwa, after they conducted their own investigation into the incident.

The suspect, identified as Onyema Okonkwo, reportedly admitted his involvement in a video interview that had gone viral.

In the video, Okonkwo said he and another individual named Emmanuel went to the student’s residence around 7 p.m, and both took turns raping Achumba.

The victim was said to be alone at the time, and two other students who lived in the same house had travelled for their nursing practicals.

“She was the only one in the house. The owner of the house is based in America. There were three students occupying the house. But two went for their nursing experience, leaving only her in the compound,” the source submitted.

The suspect claimed the attack happened after the student turned down their advances.

He also alleged that after raping Achumba, he struck her with a stick, while his accomplice brought a knife to kill her.

“We wanted her to give us sex, but she refused. We went to her house around 7 p.m. I had sex with her two times, Emmanuel had once. After that, I hit her with a stick. I didn’t know Emmanuel returned with a knife to kill her,” Okonkwo claimed.

Following his arrest, Okonkwo was handed over to the police for further investigation.

At the time of filing this report, the spokesperson of the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, had not issued any official statement on the matter.
