President Buhari’s Aide Says Jonathan’s Book Is Full Of Hate Speech

President Buhari's Aide Says Jonathan's Book Is Full Of Hate Speech 1

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has described the new book “My Transition Hours” by the former president, Goodluck Jonathan, as full of hate speech that could create division in the country.

Goodluck Jonathan launched a book, titled “My Transition Hours”, on his 61st birthday in Abuja on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The book focused on the events surrounding his time in government around the 2015 presidential election which he lost to Buhari.

Ahmad took to his Twitter account (@BashirAhmaad) on Friday, November 23, to express his disappointment with the content of the book.

“Was reading that newly released book last night before I slept, the book is full of hate speech. The author ‘entirely’ insulted a particular part of this country, forgetting that millions from that part supported and voted for him. Many are still standing with him. Too bad!”

While later reacting to another Twitter user’s review of the book, the president’s media aide further reiterated his point that the former president’s book was divisive.

The content of Jonathan’s book has made the news several times this week as he wrote about several issues surrounding his electoral loss over three years ago.
