The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has presented an attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State’s house. Critics raised a brow concerning the attestation certificate reportedly presented to the president by WAEC.
The certificate was presented to the president through its registrar Dr. Uyi Uwadiae on Friday, November 2, 2018.
Shortly after the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina disclosed the news on Twitter, allegations were leveled against WAEC by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) for ‘manufacturing’ examination results for the president.
According to the CUPP’s National Spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere, he said:
“Let Nigerians be reminded that a few days ago, the opposition raised the alarm that there was an ongoing move to tamper with the records of WAEC and pressure the leadership into manufacturing a result for President Buhari.
“Today’s action of WAEC has vindicated our earlier fears and confirmed our stand that WAEC is now competing with Oluwole Market in manufacturing documents,”
This is all coming after President Muhammadu Buhari failed to submit his academic credentials, which is a requirement, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from presidential candidates participating in the 2019 general elections. Read the report HERE.
