Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi has finally reacted to the deadly clash between supporters of his party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Dei-Dei Market, Abuja.
On Saturday, APC and PDP supporters clashed shortly after Peter Obi’s convoy made its way to leave Dei-Dei market. According to an Eyewitness identified as Blossom Martins, a vehicle in Obi’s convoy (PDP) and vehicles belonging to the APC were burnt in the resulting clash.
In reaction on Sunday morning, Peter Obi called on everyone to be calm following the incident. He tweeted:
Following the departure of my team from Dei-Dei market, I’ve gotten reports of unprovoked attack on supporters of PDP who overwhelmingly turned up to welcome us. I would like to appeal to everyone for calm even at this critical time. #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain
