Fake Policemen Caught As Melaye And Adeyemi Battle For Kogi West Senatorial Seat 1

Kogi West senatorial rerun election between candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dino Melaye and Smart Adeyemi of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently going on at different pulling units.

We gathered that at PU 008, Ganaja ward in Ajaokuta LGA, some men who came to the unit in police uniforms were discovered to be fake officers and subsequently arrested.

KanyiDaily recalls that INEC returning officer, Professor Olayinde Lawal declared November 16th Kogi West senatorial rerun inconclusive because the margin of win was less than the total canceled votes.

Smart Adeyemi scored a total of 80,118 votes, while Dino Melaye scored 59,548 votes from the seven Local Government Areas in the senatorial district.

According to the results announced so far from the November 16th election, APC’s Adeyemi is leading with 20,570 votes.

For PDP’s Melaye to win the election, he has to secure more than 21,000 votes from the available 30,730 with Adeyemi getting less than 500 votes in tomorrow’s election.
