Popular Nigerian singer, Wizkid has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari and his United States counterpart, Donald Trump, in wake of the recent killings by police in their both countries.
KanyiDaily had published a video that shows how a black American man, George Floyd, died during arrest, after a white police officer pinned him to the ground by pressing his knee into Floyd’s neck as the black man repeatedly said, “I can’t breathe.”
Meanwhile in Nigeria, a 16-year-old girl, Tina Ezekwe, was shot dead by a Nigerian police officer at Iyana Oworo area of Lagos State.
The two incidents have since sparked outrage in Nigeria and across the world with many taking to the streets and social media platforms to vent their anger while also demanding for justice.
Reacting to the trend on his Twitter page, Wizkid condemned the spate at which police officers are killing unarmed citizens.
“Police are killing black Americans and Nigerian police kill Nigerians. No man can sort this matter. God save us,” he wrote on Saturday.
The singer said the inability of the two leaders to contain the killing of innocent citizens by security operatives in their countries was indicative of how “clueless” both of them are, adding the only difference between them is that one is addicted to Twitter.
“Buhari and Trump are same person. Lol. The one difference between them is that one knows how to use Twitter than the other. Clueless!,” Wizkid wrote in a mixture of Pidgin and English.
There has been serious unrest in US and across the world over the killing of George Floyd, Nigerian rapper, Falz has called for a nationwide protests over the murder of Tina Ezekwe.
