Iran’s Government has issued an arrest warrant for the President of United States, Donald Trump, over the killing of its top General commander, Qasem Soleimani, on 3rd January, 2020.
KanyiDaily had reported how President Trump ordered an airstrike that killed General Soleimani, a high-profile commander of Iran’s secretive Quds Force.
A top Iranian prosecutor, Ali Alghasimehr, disclosed on Monday that President Trump is one of 36 people Iran has issued arrest warrants for in relation to the ‘brutal murder’ of Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.
Alqasimehr claimed Trump was at the top of the list, adding that the US President would be prosecuted as soon as he stands down presidency after his term ends.
Iran also said it had asked Interpol to issue a ‘Red Notice’ for Trump and the other 35 individuals, which the Iranian regime believes took part in the killing of Soleimani.
Alqasimehr said the ‘suspect’ included other US military and civilian officials but did not provide further details. He said Iran would continue to pursue the matter after Trump’s time in office ended.
An Interpol ‘red notice’ represents the highest level arrest warrant issued to police forces worldwide to arrest a criminal suspect who is wanted by another country.
Interpol hasn’t commented on the requests, suggesting that it isn’t taking Iran’s petition seriously. Interpol’s guidelines for ‘red notices’ clearly states that the agency can’t get involved in political issues.
KanyiDaily recalls that the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani had vowed that the country “will take harsh revenge” on America for the general’s death.
